USDA Reports 299,000 Metric Tons of New Soybean Export Sales to China and Spain

The U.S. Department of Agriculture announced new soybean export sales totaling 299,000 metric tons on October 21. According to USDA’s Foreign Agricultural Service, private exporters reported sales of 134,000 metric tons for delivery to China and 165,000 metric tons for delivery to Spain, both during the 2026/27 marketing year. The announcement follows a separate report of 612,000 metric tons of soybean sales to China on October 20, and it is the fourth consecutive daily announcement to include sales to China.

The figures offer an updated indicator of overseas demand for U.S. soybeans during the autumn harvest and marketing season. They matter to American soybean producers, grain handlers and commodity traders because international purchasing activity helps shape the market outlook for U.S. crops. These are reported export commitments, not confirmation that the soybeans were shipped on October 21, and the announcement does not show how the sales affected soybean futures prices or farm level revenues.
