CANAMEK Gold-Can Laser Land Leveling Control System + Theis Vision 2N Agriculture Dual Slope Rotary Laser Transmitter
The CANAMEK Gold-Can Laser Land Leveling Control System + Theis Vision 2N Agriculture Dual Slope Rotary Laser Transmitter combines the machine-control equipment and laser reference used for agricultural grading. The Gold-CAN control system provides the CP210-CAN control box and MD205-CAN machine receiver, while the THEIS Vision 2N Agriculture establishes a horizontal, single-slope or dual-slope reference plane.
During operation, the transmitter projects the selected reference across the work area. The machine-mounted receiver detects its position relative to that plane and sends grade information to the controller. The operator can follow visual guidance in Manual mode or use Automatic mode with a compatible hydraulic solenoid-valve installation to raise and lower the blade.
This laser land leveling bundle suits farmers, grading contractors and operators assembling a compatible scraper, land-leveler or blade-control installation. It adds the transmitter, telescope, radio remote and transmitter power accessories to the Gold-CAN control platform. The hydraulic interface, transmitter support and machine mounting are selected separately for the equipment and intended application. Survey mode is available when the optional PM400-CAN electric power mast is installed and configured.
Complete Laser Land Leveling Workflow
The bundle connects reference setup with receiver feedback and hydraulic grade control:
- Establish the laser position. Secure the THEIS transmitter on a suitable tripod or stable mounting arrangement and set the reference height. Align the tripod head carefully to support leveling and slope adjustment.
- Set the reference plane. Allow automatic leveling, align the grading axes using the telescope, and enter the required X/Y grades or select a horizontal plane.
- Configure the machine receiver. Mount the MD205-CAN securely and establish the receiver-to-blade relationship for the required working elevation.
- Set control response. Select the operating mode, control tolerance and independent blade raise/lower response settings for the compatible hydraulic installation.
- Grade against the reference. Use the LED guidance for manual blade adjustment or allow the CP210-CAN to command automatic corrections through the hydraulic valve.
- Monitor the reference and machine. Check transmitter status, receiver indications and controller information throughout the operation. Re-establish the laser setup after a significant disturbance.
The transmitter’s AutoSlope function manages the reference plane. Gold-CAN manages the machine’s grade feedback and, in Automatic mode, the blade-control commands. The operator controls machine travel and material handling.

Equipment Required Separately
A suitable tripod or stable transmitter mount, the working machine and implement, and the machine-specific installation hardware are required separately. Automatic operation also requires a compatible hydraulic solenoid valve and the appropriate hydraulic connections.
A hydraulic valve, quick-connect valve block, hoses and PM400-CAN power mast are outside this two-product bundle. Select those components according to the machine’s pressure, flow, cylinder arrangement, electrical ratings, fitting types and mounting requirements.
The included blade/valve cable provides an electrical connection for the controller; hydraulic hardware must still be specified for the machine.
Optional Mast and Blade-Control Remote
The PM400-CAN electric power mast adds receiver-height adjustment from the cab and supports the documented Survey-mode configuration. Its digital positioning system provides 39.37 in / 1,000 mm travel with stated position accuracy of ±0.04 in / ±1 mm.
The optional RS100-CAN wired remote provides blade up/down and Manual/Automatic controls. It serves the Gold-CAN machine-control system. The included FB-V radio remote operates the THEIS transmitter.
Manual, Automatic and Survey Modes
Manual Grade Guidance
Manual mode displays above-grade, on-grade and below-grade information while the operator controls the machine hydraulics. The receiver and control-panel indicators provide a continuing reference for blade adjustment.
This mode allows direct operator control during setup and grading operations where automatic corrections are not required.
Automatic Hydraulic Blade Control
In Automatic mode, the CP210-CAN uses the MD205-CAN’s laser-position information to command a compatible hydraulic solenoid valve. Raise or lower commands bring the blade toward the selected on-grade band as the machine moves through the work area.
Operators can select the control tolerance and tune the hydraulic response in each direction. This can reduce repeated manual blade inputs while maintaining the working relationship to the laser reference.
Survey Mode with Optional PM400-CAN
The controller supports Survey mode when the optional PM400-CAN electric power mast is installed and configured. This arrangement allows high and low areas to be assessed relative to a selected reference and supports land-elevation and road-slope checks.
Survey-mode capability is part of the Gold-CAN platform; the mast required for the documented workflow is a separate accessory for this bundle.
360° Machine Reception and Selectable Control Tolerances
The MD205-CAN receiver provides 360° reception, a 7.48 in / 190 mm measurement window and eight distinct beam-detection positions. Its CAN connection supplies power and carries grade information to the controller.
Flashing LED indicators provide clear grade-position information:
- Red: above grade.
- Green: on grade.
- Yellow: below grade.
Real-time laser bounce filtration and adjustable signal smoothing help stabilize detection during machine movement and vibration. The operator can choose a control tolerance of ±0.12 in / ±3 mm, ±0.35 in / ±9 mm or ±0.55 in / ±14 mm.
A tighter setting narrows the accepted on-grade band; a wider setting allows greater deviation within the selected tolerance. These values describe the receiver/control settings. They remain separate from transmitter accuracy, hydraulic performance and the accuracy of the finished surface.
Independent X/Y Slope Settings and AutoSlope
The THEIS Vision 2N Agriculture supports positive or negative grades up to ±15% independently on the X and Y axes. Operators can establish a horizontal reference, a fall in one direction or a plane with slopes in two directions.
The illuminated display shows the entered grade values. Previous slope values are stored and can be recalled, allowing an operator to return to an established setting while checking the current transmitter position and axis alignment. The included telescope assists alignment with the planned grading direction.
AutoSlope monitors the laser plane during slope operation and initiates adjustment when external influences change its position. The transmitter approaches the entered grades and displays its operating status as the reference is established.
Dual slope describes the reference plane. The bundled Gold-CAN configuration uses one MD205-CAN receiver and one blade-elevation feedback point. Independent control of both blade ends requires a suitable dual-receiver control configuration.
Automatic Leveling and Transmitter Accuracy
The THEIS transmitter automatically levels within a ±5° range. If the initial mounting inclination exceeds this capability, the instrument indicates a warning and the tripod must be realigned. Careful alignment also helps make the available slope range usable.
The transmitter’s stated leveling accuracy is ±0.059 in at 98.43 ft / ±1.5 mm at 30 m, specified at 68°F / 20°C and parallel to the main X/Y axes. Grade accuracy is ±0.025% for grades up to 5%, under the same temperature and axis conditions and without lateral slope.
The grade-accuracy condition applies to grades up to 5%; the available grade-setting range extends to ±15%. These transmitter ratings establish the reference specification and do not define an unconditional finished-surface tolerance for the complete machine installation.
Reference Monitoring with TILT and Windy
TILT Response to Major Movement
A substantial change in mounting position can alter the reference used throughout the field. The TILT function interrupts normal operation and gives warning indications after a major disturbance, such as movement of the tripod.
The operator must check the transmitter’s mounting position, reference height and direction, then re-establish the setup before continuing. This makes a disturbed reference visible to the operator before further grading.
Windy Readjustment for Minor Disturbances
The integrated Windy function extends the readjustment range in leveling and grade operation. It supports continued operation through wind, vibration or slight shocks within the function’s capability.
AutoSlope, Windy and TILT address different aspects of reference monitoring. They support operation from a correctly established, stable setup; larger position changes still require the reference to be checked.
Working Radius, Rotation and Beam Masking
Optical Range and Receiver Conditions
The THEIS transmitter has a working radius of 3,281 ft / 1,000 m, measured from the transmitter to the receiving location. This corresponds to approximately 6,562 ft / 2,000 m across the full diameter.
Usable range depends on the receiving equipment, beam path, setup and operating conditions. The transmitter emits at 635–660 nm / approximately 0.0000250–0.0000260 in, within the red-beam range used by the referenced Gold-CAN system. Actual coverage should be assessed for the receiver and conditions at the site.
Rotation and Stationary Dot Positioning
The operating instructions identify speed settings of 0, 300, 600 and 1,000 rpm. At 0 rpm, the laser dot can be moved clockwise or counterclockwise with the step controls. The starting rotation speed is also configurable.
Select a suitable rotating setting for machine-receiver operation. Stationary dot positioning serves a different setup function from the continuously rotating grade reference.
Directional Beam Masking
Mask mode switches off a positionable sector of the rotating beam, from 90° to 270°. The operator can rotate the masked sector to the required direction, and the display distinguishes the active and masked areas.
This allows the reference to be restricted to the working area. Machine receiving locations must remain within the active beam sector.
Included FB-V Radio Remote
The FB-V provides bidirectional communication with the THEIS transmitter. Its illuminated display shows the associated transmitter’s information, and its keys provide corresponding operating controls.
The approximate radio range is 656 ft / 200 m under optimum atmospheric and operating conditions at 68°F / 20°C. This is separate from the laser’s optical working radius.
The remote supports automatic channel selection or manual selection from channels 1–16. It can also place the transmitter into standby and wake it when the standby function is enabled. Two AAA alkaline batteries provide approximately 60 hours of remote operation.
The FB-V is a transmitter remote. Grade detection on the machine is performed by the included MD205-CAN receiver, with machine control managed through the CP210-CAN.
Hydraulic Response and Electrical Integration
The CP210-CAN supports compatible on/off solenoid valves. Independent raise and lower response settings from 20 to 100 allow each direction to be adjusted for the installed machine, blade and hydraulic circuit.
The controller and MD205-CAN receiver accept 12–24 V DC. The Gold-CAN hydraulic-interface specification identifies a 12 V DC valve-control output. The selected valve and wiring must match the component ratings and the intended hydraulic arrangement.
Before automatic grading, establish the correct raise/lower direction, receiver-to-blade relationship and response settings. Confirm the valve type, machine pressure and flow, cylinder configuration, fittings and mounting as part of installation planning.
Transmitter Power and Outdoor Operation
The THEIS transmitter uses the included rechargeable NiMH battery set, specified as 4 × 1.2 V, 8 Ah, and also supports four 1.5 V alkaline D cells. Approximate operating time is 70 hours on rechargeable power and 120 hours on alkaline batteries under optimum conditions. The rechargeable runtime is specified at 68°F / 20°C.
Recharge time is approximately six hours. Charging during operation is supported with the specified charger in suitable dry conditions. The manual calls for charging at room temperature and identifies charging below 41°F / 5°C as potentially damaging to the battery. Alkaline batteries must not be recharged.
The transmitter has an IP67 rating, an operating-temperature range of 5°F to 140°F / −15°C to 60°C and an approximate weight of 6.61 lb / 3 kg. The included ABS case provides dedicated storage and transport protection.
The Gold-CAN controller is rated IP66, and the MD205-CAN receiver is rated IP68. Gold-CAN’s published operating-temperature range is −4°F to 140°F / −20°C to 60°C. Environmental ratings apply to the named components individually.
Maintain Planned Field Grades for Irrigation and Drainage
Field preparation often requires a defined fall toward an irrigation path or drainage outlet. The transmitter’s independent X/Y settings establish that plane, and the receiver/controller combination provides the guidance or hydraulic corrections used to follow it.
This workflow can support more consistent field elevations and planned surface-water movement. Irrigation and drainage results also depend on the chosen slope, outlet conditions, soil and execution of the earthwork. The bundle provides the grading reference and control functions used to implement that plan.
Reduce Repeated Adjustments During Grading
Continuous manual grade control requires the operator to monitor elevation and repeatedly move the hydraulic controls. Automatic mode uses receiver feedback to issue blade raise/lower commands, while independent response settings allow the corrections to be matched to the machine.
The radio remote also allows routine transmitter settings and status to be checked from within radio range. Together, these functions can reduce repeated manual inputs and trips back to the transmitter during suitable grading work.
CAN Connectivity, Instrument Settings and Support
Gold-CAN uses wired CAN communication between compatible system components. Dedicated power, receiver and valve cables provide the machine connections, with oil-resistant construction, resistance to mechanical stress, low-temperature suitability and circular MIL-style connectors.
The CP210-CAN provides a backlit information display, receiver-communication warnings and short-circuit protection. Operators can access control tolerance, valve response, mast configuration, measurement units, smoothing and buzzer settings. Available diagnostic information includes software version, serial number and active/inactive time counters.
The THEIS transmitter provides an independent settings menu for radio channel, startup speed, percent or per-mille grade indication, display illumination and standby duration. Its information menu shows the program version, factory number and accumulated operating hours. The FB-V remote has separate battery, illumination and automatic shutoff settings.
CANAMEK provides after-sales support seven days a week for equipment configuration and operating assistance. The bundle includes a two-year free warranty.

How does Automatic mode control blade elevation?
The MD205-CAN detects the laser plane and sends grade information to the CP210-CAN. The controller commands a compatible hydraulic solenoid valve to raise or lower the blade toward the selected on-grade band. The operator manages machine travel and monitors the work.
Can I use the system manually?
Yes. Manual mode displays above-grade, on-grade and below-grade information while the operator adjusts the hydraulics. Red indicates above grade, green indicates on grade and yellow indicates below grade.
What is required to use Survey mode?
The documented Survey-mode arrangement requires the optional PM400-CAN electric power mast, installed and configured with Gold-CAN. It supports relative-elevation checks, high/low assessment and land or road slope evaluation against a selected reference.
Can the transmitter establish a different slope on each axis?
Yes. The THEIS Vision 2N Agriculture supports independent positive or negative X/Y grades up to ±15% on each axis. It can establish a horizontal reference, a slope in one direction or a plane with grades in both directions.
Does dual slope provide independent control of both blade ends?
No. Dual slope describes the transmitter’s reference plane. This Gold-CAN configuration uses one MD205-CAN receiver and one blade-elevation feedback point. Independent control of both blade ends requires a suitable dual-receiver machine-control configuration.
Is the transmitter’s working range a radius or a diameter?
The stated 3,281 ft / 1,000 m range is a radius from the transmitter to the receiving location. The calculated full diameter is approximately 6,562 ft / 2,000 m. Usable coverage depends on the receiving equipment, beam path and operating conditions.
Which accuracy figures apply to the controller and transmitter?
Gold-CAN offers control tolerances of ±0.12 in / ±3 mm, ±0.35 in / ±9 mm and ±0.55 in / ±14 mm. THEIS leveling accuracy is ±0.059 in at 98.43 ft / ±1.5 mm at 30 m, at 68°F / 20°C and parallel to the main X/Y axes. Grade accuracy is ±0.025% up to 5% grade under those conditions and without lateral slope. Finished-surface results depend on the complete installation and working conditions.
What does AutoSlope do?
AutoSlope monitors and adjusts the transmitter’s laser plane during slope operation. Gold-CAN uses the received laser reference to guide or control blade elevation through the machine’s compatible hydraulics. These functions manage the reference and the machine respectively.
What happens if the transmitter or tripod is disturbed?
AutoSlope and the Windy function support readjustment within their operating capability. A major mounting-position change triggers TILT interruption and warning indications. Check the transmitter’s position, reference height and direction, then re-establish the setup before continuing.
What do the rotation and masking controls provide?
The operating instructions list 0, 300, 600 and 1,000 rpm. At standstill, the laser dot can be positioned clockwise or counterclockwise. During rotation, mask mode can disable a positionable sector from 90° to 270°; receiving locations must remain in the active beam sector.
How far can the included radio remote operate?
The FB-V remote has an approximate range of 656 ft / 200 m under optimum atmospheric and operating conditions at 68°F / 20°C. This radio range is separate from the transmitter’s optical working radius.

Where it earns its keep
Agricultural Field Leveling
Use the THEIS reference plane with Gold-CAN guidance or compatible automatic hydraulic control to grade agricultural fields. The receiver provides continuous feedback as a scraper or land leveler redistributes soil toward the selected elevation.
Irrigation Preparation
Prepare field elevations for flood, border-strip or furrow irrigation according to the planned layout. Independent slope settings establish the required fall, while the machine-control system helps the implement follow that reference.
Surface-Drainage Grading
Grade surfaces toward a designated outlet, drain or collection area. Set the transmitter's X/Y values for the planned plane and use compatible blade control to carry out the grading work.
Single- and Dual-Slope Earthwork
Create a surface with a defined slope in one or both directions. Align the transmitter axes with the grading directions and enter the required values before controlling the implement against the resulting plane.
Field Renovation and Maintenance
Restore defined elevations on fields affected by traffic, settlement or erosion. Select Manual guidance or Automatic control according to the machine, hydraulic installation and work stage.
Scraper and Land-Leveler Control
Provide laser elevation feedback and hydraulic raise/lower commands for compatible agricultural scrapers and land-leveling implements. Independent response settings allow upward and downward corrections to be tuned to the installation.
Construction Finish Grading and Landscaping
Guide or control compatible grading blades when preparing level or sloped pads, landscaped surfaces and other construction formations. Select the appropriate control tolerance and verify the receiver-to-blade relationship for the intended finish.
Road and Access-Route Grade Preparation
Use a horizontal or sloped laser plane as an elevation reference during compatible blade-controlled road and access-route preparation. The machine follows the selected reference while the operator manages travel and material placement.
Relative-Elevation Surveying with an Optional Mast
Add the PM400-CAN power mast to use the documented Survey-mode workflow for high/low comparisons, land-elevation checks and road-slope assessment. The mast provides controlled receiver positioning relative to the selected laser reference.
Compatible Trenching Elevation Guidance
Use the laser reference to provide elevation guidance on suitable trenching equipment, subject to an appropriate receiver mount and machine-specific integration. The equipment configuration determines how the reference is applied at the working tool.
