Canadian grain deliveries climb 10.8% as canola leads September gains

Statistics Canada released new grain-delivery figures on October 26 showing that Canadian producers delivered 8.1 million tonnes of major grains in September 2026, an increase of 10.8% compared with the same month last year. Canola accounted for a substantial portion of the growth, with deliveries rising 43.5% to 2.8 million tonnes. Wheat excluding durum increased 6.5% to 3.6 million tonnes, while barley deliveries rose 2.2% to approximately 869,900 tonnes.

Saskatchewan accounted for 46.7% of national deliveries, followed by Alberta at 31.5% and Manitoba at 16.1%. The figures provide new evidence of grain movements from Canadian farms during the harvest period and are relevant to grain handlers, processors, exporters and producers assessing market supplies. However, delivery volumes do not directly represent total crop production, final yields or export sales. The figures relate to September activity and were officially published on October 26.
