Approved projects may receive between C$100,000 and C$10 million. Initial project submissions opened October 30 and are accepted until December 23, 2026.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative is intended to help Canadian producers expand domestic fruit and vegetable production, improve productivity and reduce dependence on imported produce.<\/p>\n<p>The C$750 million allocation was previously included in Canada&#8217;s National Food Security Strategy, announced June 11. <strong>The new development on October 30 is the program&#8217;s launch and opening of applications<\/strong>, not a new budget commitment.
